Photograph Analysis, Content Material

For the Magazine, I wanted to include material which was aside from just the core focus of the product (the Featured Artist). So, I decided to incorporate an 'Album Cover' to use somewhere in the magazine, either as a PUG or as an advertisement within the product. At first, I focused on taking photographs which could be possibly used somewhere within the magazine, a somewhat 'Content Model', until I made the decision to use the shots for an album to create an added feature for the magazine.

#1
For this medium close-up shot of the model, I incorporated the use of 'Mask' to make the image more striking and to emphasize the picture more significantly to the audience. It also conveys a sense of asking the question 'What's behind the mask?' both physically and psychologically, so it draws the audience's attention closer to the image. This is a strong image, the pose she is executing is striking with her standing tall, looking above and past the camera emphasizes her eyes. The silver contrasts to the black so both her posture and her facial expression are accentuated. This is image is eligible for both a magazine cover & an album cover but in my opinion it is more suited as an album cover because of the style of the image. This is my personal favourite image and this will most likely be the image in which I will use for the album cover.

This image is a Medium Long Shot of the Model, this is another strong image and can be a potential use for the album cover because of the compelling pose she embodies and the direct and strong facial expression she executes, because the shot is also a head-on shot it is clearly recognizable as to whom the Artist is. Her stance and by the way she is clenching her jacket adds strength and attitude to the picture. The long shot of the model enables the space to be used for other purposes but I personally would cut some of the space to have more focus on the focal image.

#3
This image is another medium close-up and a third possibility for the Album Cover. For this photograph, the imagery conveyed it a lot more softer than the prior images and this portrayed through her facial expression. By her smiling it emits a more softer and innocent message to the audience and this shows that the Artist has a lot less attitude. The photograph is taken at a slight tilt to change the style of the picture. Her posture is similar to that of the images prior, gripping the jacket to accentuate her physicality. Another good possibility for the image, but not as strong as the 2 prior.
